Lublin Miod (Honey) Festival

A few years ago my wife and I on one of our travels to Poland we visited Lublin, the ninth largest city in Poland.
Although the city was subject to severe destruction during WW11 most of its historical and picturesque Old Town has been preserved, it was everything and more than we expected.
We were lucky enough to encounter the 'Lublin Miod Festival' quite by chance as we walked along the streets of Lublin and found this event taking place in front of the town hall in the Rynek. As photographers this was a gift, a great chance to record a  colourful local tradition and also to enjoy a local beer at one of the many pavement cafes while enjoying the music.

We took many more photographs of this event, they can be viewed at our Flickr Imagine Poland gallery, please visit the link and enjoy.

ps. if you have information on the two traditional music groups would you please comment - many thanks
